Kent College

Kent College

Where excellence is a habit!

Nestling in idyllic surroundings on the outskirts of Canterbury, Kent College provides an education for 702 children from the age of 3 to 18.  The majority of the children come from the local community with slightly less than a quarter being made up of boarders who come from over 40 different countries around the world.

Close to London

Our boarding arrangements can include a London transport package which allows children to enjoy the security of accompanied travel on the fast train (55minutes) to and from St Pancras and the school on a Friday and Sunday evening. Thus giving children the best of both worlds: an excellent education in the Kent countryside and quality time with their parents at the weekend.

Safe Transport

Our own school buses bring students in from all over the county including: Ashford; Folkestone; Dover; Sittingbourne: Hythe; Sandwich and Herne Hill. Working parents take advantage of the fact that the school offers an extended school day to all of its pupils and even the option of staying over night when the need arises. This extra time at school is put to excellent use and contributes greatly to the undoubted success of all of the pupils.

Laptops for all pupils

All senior school students at Kent College are issued with a laptop computer. The junior school pupils having the use of ipads. Kent College is leader in this field having had one to one computer support since 2010. The school and boarding communities enjoy full wifi coverage, allowing students the very best in worldwide communication.

Top International Baccalaureate School

Kent College has recently been recognised as a world school and is delighted to be able to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma alongside it’s A level courses .

Recent IB results of an average of 37 points placed the school in the top 10 nationally. One of our students achieved a perfect 45 points and is going to Oxford to study Medicine.

We know that the IB will suit some of our students allowing them to pursue more subjects and crediting them for the work that they already do in the community and on the sports field.

Measured success

The recent ISI inspection rated the school excellent in every area!

Not just academically able but also accomplished team players in sport; eloquent musicians: contributors to the school society and beyond; leaders of their own peer group and role models to youngsters at the school. Kent College alumni can be found as leaders of their fields in all walks of life!
